Hello there, Bobby.

I'll share information so you can accept online payments in QuickBooks Online.

The inability to enable "Accept Payments" in your QuickBooks account is due to compliance with laws, rules, and policies set by government agencies and payment associations. As a financial service provider, QuickBooks must operate within the regulated guidelines, which may prohibit certain business activities or transactions from using the payment processing feature. These are some of the reasons why you're unable to turn on QuickBooks Payments:

  • The type of products or services you sell.
  • Industries that are categorized as high-risk merchants (Example: Firearm sellers, vape and e-cigarette merchants, alcohol, and cigars).
  • Credit history

You can review the Intuit Payments acceptable use policy guide to see the list of unsupported industry types, users, and transactions.

In addition, I recommend reaching out to our Payments Support Team to verify the exact reason you are unable to turn on QuickBooks Payments. One of our specialists will thoroughly review your account and provide a detailed explanation about the issue preventing you from activating the payments feature.

I've also attached some articles that cover the terms and agreement, as well as answers to common questions about QuickBooks Payments:

If you have any further concerns about online payments in QuickBooks Payments, please feel free to share them with me in a reply, and I'll be happy to assist you.
