Why are all my invoices going to the Construction Materials Costs account?

It’s possible that the items used on those invoices are currently linked to that account in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Each product or service item can be associated with a specific account, which determines where the sales are recorded.

If your invoices are incorrectly posting to the Construction Materials Costs account, you can update the account for each item. Here’s how to do that:
 

  1. Go to Sales on the left panel.
  2. Click on Products and Services.
  3. Find the item you want to adjust and click Edit.

  4. In the Income account dropdown, select the appropriate account where you want this item's sales to be recorded.

  5. Click Save and close.
