Why are changes to Time Entries not showing after converting to an invoice?

When I open the record, the product/service information is showing as the most recent save.

Good day,

I'm glad to see you posting here in the Community. I can clarify things about adding time entries to invoices in QuickBooks Online.

The system is designed to follow the details of the timesheet from the time it was converted to an invoice. You'll get a prompt stating that modifying the timesheet doesn't update the associated transaction.

As a workaround, update the product or service manually on your invoice. I've included some screenshots for your visual guide:

Also, personalizing the appearance and layout of sales forms is a simple yet effective way to enhance your business' communications. Here's a link to a quick guide to make the process easier for you: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

That should do it! Click the Reply button anytime you have additional questions about managing invoices. We're always available in this space.

Thank you for your response, however it is not a fix for my situation. I am talking about changes to the time record before bringing it over to an invoice. All I have done is create a time entry, save it, then go back to change it & save it. Then when I want to convert to an invoice, the time record in the invoice is the old data, but when I click on the link to open the record, it is showing me the newly saved data.

I've seen this QB behavior and the same error.  This is a serious validation bug (amongst others related to Time Entry and Invoicing).  The user enters time, goes back and modifies it and saves it, then days later creates an invoice and the invoice imports the old, erroneous time data.  -Or worse yet, the time entries are omitted from the invoice all together.  In other words, you record billable time that never gets added to your invoice.  It's a catastrophic QuickBooks problem for a small business.  Getting QB to acknowledge it and fix it is simply met with suggestions to upgrade to the higher priced time entry app.  Shameful.
