Why can’t I edit an invoice on the app after it’s been paid?

Hello, suzie. Allow me to share details about editing a paid invoice on the app.

To check if you're not facing any other issues, can you tell me if you could edit invoices that haven't been paid yet? Did you get an error message when trying to edit a paid invoice?

When we try to edit a paid invoice on a browser, you'll get a message saying the transaction is connected to others. It checks if you really want to make changes because it could impact your customer's balance.

That's why the app doesn't allow you to edit a paid invoice; it has fewer features than the web version. You won't receive a similar warning message as you would on the browser. Thus, I recommend accessing your QBO account and editing them there.

These browsers are compatible with both web and mobile devices:

  • Google Chrome: version 78 or newer
  • Mozilla Firefox: version 76 or newer.
  • Microsoft Edge: version 79 or newer
  • Safari: version 12 or newer (Mac only)
  • Opera: version 68 or newer
  • Samsung: version 10 or newer

Additionally, you can refer to this article for a comparison of available features on supported devices: Compare mobile app features.

Please let me know how it goes. I'll be around whenever you need help managing invoices in QuickBooks Online.
