Why can’t I open last year customer invoices to see what I charged them for line item services. The app fails to open them when I select them

When you attempt to open an invoice in the QuickBooks mobile app, are you receiving an error message? If so, can you share the exact wording of that error? This helps us verify if there are any known alerts or issues in our systems related to this when opening invoices on the mobile app.

 

In the meantime, performing a data refresh can often clear up unexpected behavior or glitches within the mobile application. Here's how:

 

iOS

  1. Go to Settings, then tap General.
  2. Tap iPhone Storage, then tap the QuickBooks Online app.
  3. Tap Offload App.
  4. This will free up the storage without deleting your app's documents and data.

 

Android

  1. Go to Menu ☰, then tap More Options ⋮.
  2. Tap Settings, then Refresh Data.
  3. Tap YES to confirm.

 

After completing the data refresh, go ahead and test if you can now successfully open invoices from the previous year within the QuickBooks mobile app.

 

If the data refresh does not resolve the issue, uninstalling and reinstalling the app can help reset the installation and refresh the core setup. 

 

This can fix any underlying issues or corruptions that could be preventing invoices from opening properly. Here's how:

 

  1. Uninstall the QuickBooks Online mobile app from your device
  2. Restart your mobile device
  3. Go to your device's app store
  4. Search for "QuickBooks Online" and reinstall the latest version of the app
  5. Log into your QuickBooks account in the new app installation.

 

Once reinstalled, open the past year's invoices again. A fresh reinstallation can resolve configuration issues that might have prevented certain functions, like opening past invoices, from working properly within the app.
