Question

Why did QB remove the ability to group activities by Sub-customer in my invoices? Does anybody have a work-around to this defect?

I've used QB for 5 years, and always grouped invoices by "sub-customer" which is necessary in my field (legal), but with the recent update, this feature is gone. Now I have clients calling me because their invoices no longer have the necessary information. I can't be the only one dealing with this. This is so critical that I must find another provider if it can't be fixed.

Thank you for posting on the Community page, lschneider. We appreciate you for trusting our product in the long run.

I'm well aware of how significant for you to always group invoices by sub-customer. No worries, I'm here to guide you through achieving this.

First off, please know that this option is unavailable for the new estimate and invoice layout. To find out which layout you have, follow these steps:

1. Click the +  New button, then select Invoice.
2. Hit the Old Layout button in the upper-right corner, then, Leave.

Also, switching to different invoice styles in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is available to selected users only. If you don't have this option, we recommend submitting feedback. It will be shared with our Product Development Team for improvement.

I also suggest editing your invoice template to Airy Classic

Please don't hesitate to go back to this thread if you need additional assistance in managing your invoices in QBO. Stay safe.
