Question

Why did QBO change the format of my invoices?? And where do I now find the multiple, custom versions I had previously saved?

Hello there, TRosie.

I can see how the new changes to your invoicing experience impacted your workflow. Let me help and provide clarifications about this update.

We've redesigned the invoicing experience to simplify the process for users, ensuring they feel confident when creating and sending invoices. With the new layout, users have access to previews of their sales forms at every stage, including the invoice PDF, email, and a new payor preview of the online invoice website.

Regarding the list of your custom templates, you'll have to click the Manage menu on the Invoice page. Then, click the Design drop-down to view the list of your customized forms. From there, choose the template you wish to use.

Explore this link to find out more about the recent changes and improvements made to the sales form: QuickBooks Invoices and Estimates FAQs.

However, customers who are currently using Simple Start and Essential plans will be automatically transitioned to the new invoice layout. Furthermore, switching back to the old invoicing layout will no longer be available.

If you're using the Plus and Advanced versions, you have the option to go back to the old experience. Here's how:

  1. In your company, tap the +New button and choose Invoice.
  2. On the top-right corner, click the Old layout button.
  3. Click the Switch layout button.
  4. Enter or select the necessary details and choose the Leave and submit button.

Moreover, utilize these resources if you need more details on customizing the appearance of your sales forms and handling your customers' payments. Open each link to view the full details:

Keep me posted if you have additional about the invoicing experience and other product-related concerns. I'll get back to make sure everything is taken care of for you. Have a great rest of the day, TRosie.
