Why do I only have track quantity and price/rate not track quantity on hand?

The platforms for QuickBooks Online are distinct. Several features and functions work differently and are meant to work independently. With this, you only have the option of tracking quantity and price/rate when creating transactions because the fields that display from there will also appear on the person to whom you send this. 

 

Tracking the quantity on hand is only available when creating an item in the program. This is done to ensure that you can set reorder points, create purchase orders, and have enough buffer stock so never run out of an item.
