Question

Why do my invoices show my login email instead of my business email, even though my business email is listed in my business profile?

My personal email is what I use to logon and manage QuickBooks account. My business email is what clients should see on the invoice, and it is listed on my business profile. There appears to be nothing I can do to correct this.

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, Skinny1007. Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to ensure your business email is showing on your invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

If you haven't yet, ensure to use your business email as the customer-facing email in the account settings. To do that:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Account and Settings.
  2. Click the Company tab, then select the Contact info section.
  3. If your customer-facing email is the same as company email, select the Same as company email checkbox. Otherwise, uncheck the box and enter your desired email.
  4. Click Save, then Done.

If the issue persists, let's troubleshoot your browser to clean the cache that causes unusual behavior in the program. First, open your account in a private window. You can utilize these keyboard shortcuts:

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Shift + N

Once resolved, you can return to your original browser to clear its cache or utilize another compatible one. It's possible that it's a temporary issue between the QBO and the browser.

Moreover, you'll need to record an invoice payment in QBO to mark it as paid. Otherwise, it remains open and unpaid on your reports, which messes up your books.
