Why does QB Online "spin" forever when I try to open a quote or an invoice?

My internet connection is not a problem (300Mb up and down). Other QB pages render pretty much immediately, but quotes and invoices won't open until multiple tries.

I'll work with you to resolve the sales form error you have in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @carymillsap. This way, you can open quotes and invoices accordingly.

This sales form (quote and invoice) error can sometimes be caused by the browser's overtime collection of data from frequent page visits. To isolate this matter, you can perform some troubleshooting steps.

You can start by pulling up your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private browser (incognito). Here's how:

  • Press Ctrl Shift (Google Chrome)
  • Ctrl Shift (Firefox)
  • Control Option (Safari)

Once signed in, go to the + New button to open or create an invoice and a quote/estimate.

If you're able to open an invoice and quote without an error, return to your default browser and clear its cache. This will refresh the system and remove older data that causes viewing and performances issue. However, if this matter continues, I'd recommend using other supported browsers.

Also, to further guide you in managing your company's income and customers using QBO, I'd recommend checking out this article: QuickBooks Help Articles for Sale sand Customers. It includes topics about managing payments and customizing sales forms, to name a few.

If you have other payroll concerns or inquiries about managing employees in QBO, let me know in the comments below. I'll gladly help. Take care always, @carymillsap

I neglected to mention that I can work around the problem by using Cmd-R. In other words:

1. Click the magnifying glass.

2. Type "1335" into the search field.

3. Choose Estimate 1335 from the drop-down candidate list.

4. The spinning progress meter will spin for at least two hours (that's the longest I've let it go so far).

5. Type Cmd-R.

6. Estimate 1335 opens immediately.

I think that implies that it's not a sales form error. (I can also enter into evidence that I haven't modified any of my forms in the past several months.)

If I execute the steps above in an incognito browser window, I don't get the problem at step 4.

After clearing my browser cache, the form opens immediately (without even showing the page that has the rotating progress meter on it). Problem solved.

Thank you!
