Why doesn't this retarded online app auto-save when putting together estimates or invoices?I just clicked save and it backed me out to login and I lost half my work.

Hello, wkornfeld,

QuickBooks Online will automatically sign out if the screen has been idle for more than an hour. I recommend saving your work as soon as you're done.

You can also choose up to 3hrs of inactivity before QBO sign you out. Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Select Account and Settings.
  3. Click Advanced.
  4. Click the Pencil icon on Other preferences section.
  5. On Sign me out if inactive for section, click the drop-down and choose 1-3 hours.
  6. Hit Save.
  7. Done.

Please feel free to leave a comment below if you need any further assistance.

Changing the inactive section doesn't work, it must be something with the browser timing out. I'm trying out the desktop version.

Hello there, @jdiddio.

To check if it's a browser issue, you can perform some basic troubleshooting steps. Let's start by accessing your account in a private window.

You may use this shortcut keys to access private browser:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome).
  • Ctrl + Shift + P (Firefox).
  • Control + Option + P (Safari).

If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. Otherwise, switch or use a different supported browser.

If you're still getting the error, it would be best to get in touch with our phone support or chat team. They can pull up your account in a safe environment and further investigate this issue.

Let me know if I can be an additional help. Take care and stay safe.
