I'm here to answer your query about creating a recurring invoice template from an existing transaction to help you generate one successfully, @Sarah1.

In the new QuickBooks Online invoice experience, you'll find the Make Invoice Recurring option in the Scheduling section under the Manage button to create a recurring form from an existing entry. This way, you won't have to fill up the data, which saves time and effort. You may refer to the image below:

However, if you already created one by following the steps above but the information on the periodic entry won't populate, I also found an ongoing investigation into this matter. Our Product engineers have already identified the cause and are currently working on a solution for this issue.

If you want to get notified of the progress and resolution once it's available, contact our Customer Support team to add you to the list of affected users and stay updated.

Here's how you can reach them:

  1. Go to the Help menu, then select the Search tab.
  2. Click Contact Us.
  3. Choose a topic, then enter a brief description of your concern and hit Continue.
  4. Pick either Chat with us or Have us call you and start connecting with them.

In the meantime, you might consider entering its details manually, and I'll show you how to do that:

  1. Go to the Gear ⚙ icon and select Recurring Transactions.
  2. Choose the form you've previously made and click Edit.
  3. Add the necessary data for this transaction.
  4. Once done, press Save Template.

Furthermore, once your customers receive their invoices and are ready to pay you, record them to mark the transaction as paid and keep your account accurate.

QuickBooks also offers an invoice reminder feature that you can set up and send to your clients when their invoices are soon to be or overdue.
