Question

Why if clients pay an invoice on Quickbooks Intuit payment it automatically records the payment against the invoice but my bank deposits also show an additional deposit?

My client pays using Intuit and it then shows the invoice was paid. When I go into my bank transactions and reconcile deposits I assign the deposit from my bank to the customer but then is creates a balance showing 'open invoices'.  If I try to assign the bank deposit to the invoice it doesnt allow me to because the invoice was already 'paid' by the Intuit payment

Let me share information regarding linking a deposit to an invoice, @skilbuilders22-g.

Before linking a deposit to an invoice, ensure that:

To link the bank deposit to the invoice and avoid any errors when reconciling, you can exclude the payment first. Then, follow the steps below to deposit the payment:

  1. Go to the +New button and choose Bank Deposit.
  2. Select the account you want to put the money into from the Account dropdown.
  3. Tick the checkbox for each transaction you want to combine.
  4. Ensure that the total of the selected transactions matches your deposit slip.
  5. Click Save and close or Save and new.

Once you've created the deposit, you can link it to the invoice.
