Question

Why is it so hard to get an increase to individual subcontractor payments? I think I'm going to leave this platform.

Multiple calls on support for hours at a time...no way to get in contact with people who approve this

Good evening, @will-homeproroof

It's great to see a new face here in the Community! I hate to hear that you've had a not so good experience with getting an increase to individual subcontractor payments.

To clarify, are you referring to contractor payments or direct deposit with payroll?

This will help us determine the best solution for you business. I'll be waiting for your response!

Contractor payments. Increasing an individual limit is so unbelievably difficult.

I'm here to share information to get the best help you need in QuickBooks direct deposit limits, will-homeproroof.

You'll want to go to your Payroll setting to request a limit increase for your contractors. Let me walk you through the process:

  1. Go to Settings ⚙, then Payroll settings.
  2. From Direct deposit, select Edit ✎.
  3. Select Request limit increase.
  4. Enter the amount you need and the type of increase.
  5. Click Done.
  6. Choose Save, then Done.

If you already sent a request typically, it is reviewed within 2 business days and we'll email you the results. You may be asked to provide additional info like bank statements.

If you're asked to send us bank statements, we need to know your average historical balance to make sure your account is sufficiently funded for the amounts you're requesting. To upload these documents, go to Settings ⚙, then Resolution Center, and select Payroll. For more information about the process, see this article: Get help if you’re over a direct deposit limit in QuickBooks Payroll.

However, if it's past the allotted time, I'd recommend contacting our Merchant Support Team. They can review the request and guide you in sending your supporting documents. To reach them, click this link: Merchant Services Support team.

If you're going to pay your contractors today, you can give paper checks to them as an alternative. For detailed instructions, open this link: Pay a contractor with a paper check.

I'll keep an eye on this thread for any additional questions regarding direct deposits for your contractors. Please keep me updated so I can quickly assist. Stay safe!
