Why is my Quickbooks all messed up now? I can’t see any of my income or expenses categories. They all disappeared

I can’t categorize any of my transactions like I have been for over a year. I don’t understand what happened

We can investigate what's causing the income and expense categories to disappear in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Rose.

 

We can access the Audit Log report to check if those transactions were deleted in QBO causing them to disappear. This report helps us track added, deleted, and modified transactions, as well as user entries. This allows you to see the history of changes made to individual transactions or a range of multiple transactions.  Just customize the audit log using the Filter tool to narrow down the data. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Audit Log.
  3. Click the Filter drop-down menu.
  4. Set the date range.
  5. Press Apply.

 

If there are no changes applied, we can log in to your account using an incognito browser. Private browser prevents saving cache and cookies that sometimes cause errors when running frequently visited websites. Here are the useful shortcut keys you can use to access one:

 

  • Ctrl+ Shift + N for Google Chrome
  • Ctrl + Shift + P for Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge
  • Command + Shift + N for Safari

 

If it works, your main browser may have accumulated too much historical data, which can impact processes and cause this kind of behavior. To ensure this doesn't happen again, I recommend that you clear its cache. Otherwise, you can switch to another browser if the same thing happens.
