Hello there, ttdeckingservice.

I am here to assist you with eliminating the QuickBooks Online (QBO) Waiting for Information notice.

The Waiting for info notification appears after you've sent an email requesting personal information. When your contractor receives the email, they will be prompted to sign into QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) and create an Intuit account to provide their W9 information.

Additionally, you won't be able to send another reminder if the link has already expired. I suggest requesting a copy of their W9 form and inputting the data yourself. Just click on Waiting for info, select what type of contactor they are, and enter their information.

You can take the following steps if you would prefer to let the contractor submit the information.

  1. Please have the contractor sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed to check if they have an existing account.
  2. If the system will not let them sign in, have them click on Create account.
  3. Click Sign in in the Adding a company to an existing account? Sign in.
  4. After creating an account, they should see a page asking them to enter their W9 information, as shown below.

If the issue continues, I suggest contacting our Customer Support Team. This way, they can pull up the account securely and help enter the information.

  1. Go to the (?) Help icon.
  2. Select Talk to a Human.
  3. Enter a short description of your concern.
  4. Click on I still need a human.
  5. Tap Contact Us to connect with our live support.
  6. Choose to Get a callback.

Also, we've created a guide if you need help adding a contractor or changing an amount when creating your 1099s in QuickBooks.

Let us know if you still have more questions about managing contractors in QuickBooks. We'll be sure to get back to you. Take care.
