Will 1099's automatically be emailed to my contractors? How can I be sure they were emailed if all their information is in the system?

I recognize the importance of making sure your contractors receive their 1099s. I'll lay down a few insights about it.

 

Once you file the forms with QuickBooks Online and the IRS receives them, that's when we mail paper copies to your contractors. At the same time, we send them emails to view their forms online.

 

To ensure that they're mailed, you can view the status of them. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Taxes menu.
  2. Then, go to the 1099 filings tab.
  3. From there, you can check the status from the Recipient's copy section.
