Welcome to the Community, heather.

I'd be glad to provide the answer to your query about snapping receipts in the QuickBooks Online (QBO) mobile app.

Yes. Normally, snap receipts work just fine in the QBO mobile app.

To learn more about how snap receipts work, visit this article: Upload your receipts to QuickBooks Online. It also includes the steps for uploading receipts in a browser.

If you encounter issues when using the snap receipt feature, you can perform some troubleshooting steps to fix the issue. First, verify if the camera option in your phone's settings is enabled. Next, you may refresh the data on your mobile app. It'll help fix data issues on the app.

Here's how:

For Android:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the top right.
  2. Choose Settings.
  3. Click Refresh Data and tap Yes.

For iOS:

  1. Click the menu button.
  2. Choose Help & Feedback.
  3. Select Refresh Data and click Refresh.

Once finished, test to snap a receipt again and check if it's working. If the same thing happens, you may uninstall and reinstall the application to have a clean slate.

I'm attaching this article for future reference on how to email expense receipts and categorize them into the correct accounts in QuickBooks:
