Question

With our business, some of the items on an invoice would per hour, per gallon or per pound. How do I specifiy this on an invoice?

To specify the goods and billing units for your business, it is advisable to create new Products and Services. This will facilitate their inclusion in the invoicing process. Kindly adhere to the outlined procedure below:

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Login to your QuickBooks Online.
  2. On the left side, Menu Go to Sales, then select Products & services (Take me there).
  3. Choose New.
  4. You can select the Non-inventory, Inventory, or Service.
  5. Enter the Name of the product or service and an SKU, if you track them.
  6. From the Category ▼ dropdown, select the category that best describes your product or service.

 

Upon completing the setup, you may proceed to create an invoice. Subsequently, please enter the specified item in the "Product & Services" section.
