With Quickbooks essential and QB Online Payroll Core can we set up a view only user?

Currently, QuickBooks Online doesn't offer a user role that provides view-only access to the account. However, as a workaround, you can use QBO features that provide limited access, such as the View Reports and Track Time Only roles. Let me explain these roles further.
 

QBO offers alternative roles that allow users to have restricted access within the account. It's important to note that these roles have different levels of accessibility. With the View Reports role, users can see all reports except for payroll reports and contact information. Apart from that, they can generate and group reports, but they cannot view the actual transactions behind these reports.
 

On the other hand. the Track Time Only role is suitable for vendors and employees who need to log their time. Users with this role can only enter timesheets and view time reports. However, this role is not available if your QuickBooks Online or Intuit Enterprise Suite accounts are linked to QuickBooks Time, as this integration removes the time tracking only user role.
 

Additionally, I encourage you to submit feature requests to our development team. Rest assured that your feedback will be considered in the next software update, depending on how many users are experiencing the same issue.

Here's how you can submit feedback:

1. Go to the Gear icon at the top.

2. Select Feedback.

3. Enter the product suggestions that you want QuickBooks Online to consider in the next update.
4. Click Next to submit feedback.
