Writing off a balance on an old invoice.
Hi,
I use QB Online for a small home owners association and know very little. A homeowner overpaid in 2022 when I inherited this position, so I told them to underpay an invoice in 2023. Now this underpaid invoice is messing up my accounting. I'd like to write it off to the associated expense account before I close the books for 2023. It's also a small amount.
How do I do this? Can I use a journal entry? It's not a bad debt, so I don't want to create a bad debt account.
