Question

Your split amounts don't add up to the total specified. Either change your split amounts, or change the total by clicking the recalculate button at the bottom.

Hello there, prashant. Let me share informations regarding splitting amounts of your transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

We want to make sure we provide the resolution you need. With this, we'd like to ask what are you trying to achieve when you received the error. You can attach screenshots so we can get a clear picture of your current situation and supply the needed assistance to resolve this.

If you mean splitting the amount and adding the bank transaction from PayPal, please note the ongoing investigation into this. Our engineers are aware of it and are now working on a fix. I recommend contacting our support team so they can add you to the list of affected users and receive updates once it's fixed.

However, If you're trying to edit the billable expense markup and prompted with an error, I suggest doing a browser troubleshooting. Sometimes, the browser's cache can become filled and cause issues when working your QBO account. Run QBO in a private or incognito browsing mode to help your computer run optimally and regain some storage space to continue working seamlessly.

See these keyboard shortcuts to open a private window:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + P

For a detailed step-by-step process in clearing your cache, check out this article: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

On the other hand, check out these articles as your reference in managing your transactions inside QBO:
