Question

Adding a URL to an invoice (Enterprise)

Good morning,

I have developed an invoice template in Quickbooks that includes our payment terms and details at the bottom.  The payment terms take up quite a lot of space and I'm wondering if it's possible to add a link on the invoice to an HTML page that could separately hold the payment terms?  I would like the link to remain clickable on the invoice itself.  Is this possible?

Thanks,

Aksinia

Hello AS37,

I love that you're looking for the ways to communicate effectively with your customers while working with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise. Having a comprehensive document with payment terms makes sense. I can go over the options for including that with the invoice to your customer.

When you send an invoice through QuickBooks Enterprise, the program creates a PDF document that's included with the email to your customer. The words on this document are not clickable, but I have a suggestion of how you can still include that information to your customer. What you can do instead of putting it in the message field on the invoice is put it in the Body field when you actually send the invoice to the customer. While the link won't be clickable in your setup, your customer will be able to click it once they receive the email. Here's an example of what I mean.

For your reference, here is our article about emailing forms in QuickBooks Enterprise: Email sales forms in QuickBooks Desktop. For anything that you think could be enhanced with either the email process or invoices, I invite you to submit feedback by going to the Help menu in QuickBooks Desktop and choose Send Feedback Online. This helps our product development team learn the ways that QuickBooks users would benefit from the features they're suggesting.

I hope this has helped! Feel free to ask more questions if you have them. :)
