Hello smithjames181,

Estimates are a great way to communicate with your customers about what work you can do for them or what product they'll receive with the associated price for those items, and in QuickBooks Online, you can easily change the statuses of estimates to suit what you need them to be. With the option to set an expiration date, it can be helpful for tracking deadlines you want your customers to meet, but I can appreciate wanting to use an expired estimate as well. I can show you how it's done.

When working with estimates in QuickBooks Online, you can set an expiration date to signal for your records when it's past time for your customer to consider the offer. All this does is mark the estimate as expired in your transaction list, but it's still possible to work with the estimate. You can still make changes as needed, including opening the estimate from the transaction list, editing or removing the expiration date, and then saving again. Then you'll see the estimate as Pending in your transaction list. You could even go the step of clicking the option to create an invoice without changing the expiration date if you'd prefer.

For more details about working with estimates, check out this article: Create and send estimates in QuickBooks Online. The article goes over creating, editing, and sending estimates as well as creating invoices from them, so it should get you on your way.

Don't hesitate to ask more questions if you have them. Have a great day!
