Can I add a new type of income that isn't service, sales or other - like Grants?

Welcome to the Community! It's great that you're using QuickBooks Online for your bookkeeping needs. I can shed some light on the types of income allowed in QuickBooks Online. 

At this time, there isn't an income option specifically for grants. I can see how this would be beneficial to yourself and any non-profit users, so I recommend submitting some Feedback to our product development team. This way, they can take your ideas into consideration when preparing futures updates to the program. Here's how to submit your feedback from within your QuickBooks Online company:

• Navigate to the Gear icon at the top, then Feedback.
• Enter your comments or product suggestions then select Next.
• You'll be provided a list of suggested Help articles related to your comment. You can read through them or select Skip and send message.
• From the drop-down, choose the appropriate category, then select Send message.

You input regarding grant income type will then be shared with our team.
