Can I discount an invoice when receiving a payment?

Welcome to the Community! QuickBooks Online allows you to generate invoices and receive payments with ease, even while on the go. I can see how having the ability to add a discount while receiving a payment would be useful for situations like early payment or for other reasons. I can shed some light on using discounts in the program.

QuickBooks Online allows you to add a discount to an Invoice as either a dollar amount or a percentage. Although there isn't a way to add the discount while in the Receive Payment screen, it can be added within the Invoice screen itself. When you receive a payment from one of your customers and want to give them a discount, you'll go to the Invoice first and select Edit to add the discount, then process the payment itself.

They use the feedback received from customers like you to decide what features to change or add in future updates. Here's how you can submit feedback from within your QuickBooks Online company: 

• Navigate to the Gear icon at the top of the screen, then Feedback.
• Enter your comments or product suggestions then select Next.
• You'll be provided a list of suggested Help articles related to your comment. You can read through them or select Skip and send message.
• From the drop-down, choose the appropriate category, then select Send message.
