Hi usersaamco-contracti,

Sometimes it's necessary to shut off the sales tax and I'll be glad to share more information on this. QuickBooks Online offers versatile features that make it easy to stay on top of your taxes and finances.

Once you've enabled the taxes on your account, there isn't a way to directly turn them off. Based on what you've described, I'd recommend selecting a default tax code that can either be Exclusive of tax or Out of Scope. Here's how:

  1. Navigate to the Gear icon.
  2. Click on the Accounts and Settings.
  3. Select the Advanced tab, then Accounting.
  4. Under Default tax rate selection, select whether Exclusive of Tax or Out of scope of Tax.
  5. Click on Save and then Done.

Using this setting will save you from having to manually change the tax codes each time you're creating a sales form. Give this a try and let me know if it helps. I'll be here in case you have other questions.
