My client is offering 10% discount on some products and 15% on other products for Black Friday Sale. Can you create a discount product/service that will do this?

Hi stopattheoffice,

Welcome to the Community. Entering your discounts properly is essential so that your customers receive the correct invoice or sales receipt. QuickBooks Online offers the flexibility you need in order to enter discounts on invoices. I'll be glad to point you in the right direction to add a discount on the invoice so you can get back to doing what you love.

You can activate the feature through the settings to get the discount option. I'll explain how.

  1. Click on Gear icon at the top.
  2. Select Account and Settings.
  3. Click on the Sales tab on the menu.
  4. In the Sales form content section, select the pencil  icon to edit it.
  5. Select the Discount checkbox to turn it on.
  6. Then click on Save and then Done.

This will activate the box to enter the discount percent or discount value on the invoice or sales receipt total.

If you'd like to apply the discount to each item of the invoice, you'll need to create the discount as a product\service and then enter the amount in negative on the invoice  or sales receipt in order to apply it. I encourage you to review this article on how to add a discount item with a fixed price.

Let me know if you have any questions, I'll be happy to help.
