I enter payments received against open invoice and it deducts the credit amount on the screen; however, when I print the invoice, the crdit amount is not deduted for the invoice total. How to remedy?

Hi there bdlproducts,

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community! I'm glad you've joined us here to get support with QuickBooks Desktop. It's important to me that you know where to look to find the credit that you've applied to an invoice, so let me point you in the right direction.

When applying a credit to an invoice, it'll appear on your printed invoice in the bottom right, above Balance Due. You should see a column that reads Payments/Credits. If you're using an invoice template, you'll want to be sure that you've checked to include the boxes for Credit and Balance Due rather than just Total so that those amounts appear as well. You'll be able to do this by navigating to the Invoice Format Tab then choosing Custom Data Layout. The Columns tab is where you should look to include the Credit and Balance Due options to your template.

I thought I'd share this thread that lines up with the issue you're experiencing. You may find it helpful. I'd also like to share this article to help you Resolve common issues when applying a payment towards an invoice for your review.
