Daily Sales - Quickbooks Desktop Pro

Thanks for reaching out to Community.  Welcome!  QuickBooks Desktop is a dynamic product for all of your bookkeeping needs.  I'd be happy to assist you with entering the daily sales for your restaurant.

To save time and keep your income reports accurate, you can enter a single sales receipt to report the total daily sales.  To record your daily sales summary, you'll need to start by setting up a customer with an identifiable name, such as 'Daily Sales'.  Once you've added the customer, here's how to enter the total sales for the day per item:

1. From your QuickBooks Home screen click on Create Sales Receipts/Enter Sales Receipts

2. Using the Customer: Job drop-down, select Add New

3. Complete the relevant information at the top of the form like the Date and Sale No

4. Choose the Payment Method Method 

5. Select the item(s) to include as a sale.  You can create a new item by clicking on the dropdown arrow in the Item column and hit +New
6. Click Save & Close when complete
