Question

Do I need to keep old invoices on QBO? A client exported reports from QBO, and now imported them since 2015 but they show as unpaid. I dont want to do bank rec since '15

Client had to leave old bookkeeper's QBO acct due to shady circumstances and made his own. We have everything else imported, but are having a hard time with invoices

I know if I look at old balance sheets, etc, they won't be accurate, but I'm thinking about only having this year's invoices in the system, since HST is up to date etc. We have a file with all invoices if needed. They are all just sitting under A/R since they are showing as unpaid.
I just wonder if there are further repercussions of not having all invoices in the system that maybe I am not thinking of?

Hi there,

Congrats on your first post in the Community. I'll be glad to share more info on this.

It's good you have the invoices stored elsewhere. If you'd like to keep storing those invoices outside of QuickBooks you're more than welcome to do so. If you'd like to store the invoices in QuickBooks you'll have to manually enter the transactions that go along with the invoices since 2015. Ultimately, it's up to you on how you'd like to proceed. Let me know which route you choose to take. I'll be happy to help.

Feel free to ask questions. I'll be on standby.
