I also get "Customer assigned to this transaction has been deleted. Before you can modify this transaction, you must restore Square Customer (deleted)"
when I try to delete an individual invoice
Hello again gewow,
Thanks for the update about this error message coming up when you're trying to delete these transactions that were entered from Square in QuickBooks Online. I've read through the thread, and I can help take it from here to get you back on track.
Since the program is prompting you to restore the deleted "Square Customer" profile, that's where I recommend starting to resolve this. When it comes to changing transactions related to a deleted customer, it can mean reactivating the customer first, deleting the entries, and then making the customer inactive again afterward. It's a fairly easy process.
- Hover over Sales in the left menu.
- Choose Customers.
- Select the small gear icon above the ACTION column of the customer list.
- Choose Include inactive.
- Select Make active beside the Square Customer.
Once you've done that, go through and try to delete the transactions again. When you're done with those, you can head back to the Customers section, click the Square Customer name, choose Edit, and then Make inactive.
