Question

Hi. I've already asked this and didn't get a response. I wanted to know why if I have a customers phone number saved that it doesn't show up on the invoices?

Let me take care of you, jcgraphicdesigns.

We are unable to include the customer's phone number on the invoice. By default, QuickBooks Online (QBO) shows the customer's name, email, billing address, terms, invoice, and due date.

However, I have a workaround to share. You can add the phone number on the billing address and create a custom field. Once done, copy the phone details and paste it on the newly created field.

I'll show you how:

To add the phone number on the address:

  1. First, go to Sales on the left pane and select Customers at the top to open the list.
  2. Click the customer's name to open their profile.
  3. Hit Edit and add the phone number on the Billing Address field.
  4. Lastly, tick the Save button.

To create a custom field:

  1. First, go to the Gear icon, then choose Account and Settings to open the preferences.
  2. Select Sales on the left pane and click the Sales form content section.
  3. Under the Custom fields, enter the phone number in the box and select whether you want it to show it internally or publicly.
  4. Make sure to hit Save and Done.

Once done open the invoice and copy the phone details in the Billing Address box and paste it to the Phone Number custom field.

Let me share these articles for additional information about customers and custom fields:
