Hi there, How can I receive payment for an invoice and create a deposit slip without creating a duplicate transaction?

Thanks for reaching out here.  QuickBooks Online has the versatility you need to receive payments and record deposits without causing duplicate entries.  I'll be happy to help!

 

Depositing funds into your bank usually involves multiple payments received.  However, the bank records a single deposit, so individual transactions in QuickBooks won't match your bank's records.  For this reason, you'll enter the transactions to your Undeposited Funds account to hold them before recording the deposit.  This will also prevent duplicate entries and keep your books accurate.  Here's how to record and make bank deposits in QuickBooks Online.  You'll also benefit from this article to assist with categorizing and matching the transactions associated with the deposit.
