hey, I needed some help tracking somethings on a biweekly basis that’s really important.

I need to populate a report that shows hours paid to employees vs hours billed to customers. But then need to see hours not billed out that are paid out To employees so I can find leaks in payroll biweekly.

Is this something i can do within QuickBooks? or with QuickBooks Time?

Hi GCorp,

Welcome to Community!  With QuickBooks Online you'll have the ability to run multiple reports and customize them to your specific needs.  I'd be happy to help!

The Payroll Summary by Employee report would be a great start for what you've described.  Here's how to locate it:

1. From the left navigation bar hit Reports
2. In the search engine, type 'Payroll' and select Payroll Summary by Employee from the list

3. Select your Date Range and then Apply
4. At the far right click on Customize to see all information or totals only

5. Hit Run Report

To see the hours billed to customers and employees, I'd recommend the Time Activity by Customer.  Follow these steps to locate and customize the report:

From the report menu, type Time Activities by Customer in the search engine and select the Detail report from the list

2.  Enter your custom Dates

3.  Hit the Customize tab, this will open a list of all options available

4.  Click on Filter.  Here you'll be able to ensure the employees are also in the report.  To select specific customers or employees, use the drop-down arrow to see the list.

5.  Select Rows/Columns and check all boxes that apply, including but not limited to Start Time, End Time, Break

6.  When you're ready, hit Run Report

That should do it for Customers and Employees!

To review any unbilled time for employees that has been paid out, you'd need to compare the Payroll Summary and Unbilled Charges reports.  Lets run the report by going to:

1.  Reports and search for Unbilled Charges

2.  Select your Date Range

3.  Hit Customize and then Change Columns, check all boxes that apply

4.  Open the Filter and select items to add/remove

5.  Click Run Report
