Hello Renee and welcome to the Community!

Customizing your invoices is simple in QuickBooks Online. There are tons of options and lots of flexibility so that your invoice template can meet your business' brand guidelines or aesthetics. Let me go over this with you so you know what you can and can't do.

When it comes to customizing sales forms, there are a few options for logo placement. Navigate to the Gear, choose Custom Form Styles, and choose to Edit the necessary template. When you choose the Design tab you'll be able to Make logo edits. Hit Show logo, then choose from the available options for size and placement. You won't be able to adjust the height or width, and the image needs to be uploaded as a square-shape. It's also important to have the correct file type and size. You can read more on this and in our article on how to Add, customize, or remove logos on sales forms.

This is the extent of the customization you can do with logos on your custom forms, so you won't be able to display your logo as the background of the Invoice. I can see how this would be a nice option to have though, so I want you to pass your suggestion along to the product development team. You can do that by navigating to the Gear icon and choosing Feedback. It's important to have your voice heard on things like this so that we can take your ideas into consideration when we implement new features and improve existing ones.

Since the option you're looking for isn't available within the Custom form styles menu, you may want to consider importing a custom form style. You can do this by using the New style dropdown on the Custom form styles menu and selecting Import style. Choose between an Invoice or an Estimate then use the provided Import guide to learn how to create your own template from scratch. There are samples within the guide that you can use as a basis for the creation of your own. Check out this article for more information: Import custom form styles for invoices or estimates.

Have a great evening and don't hesitate to reach out when and if you have further QuickBooks-related questions.
