Hello LSLR,

This is a great question, and I'd like to offer some further details to add to what Lourdes already highlighted with the Create and print a packing slip article. That article goes over how to create a packing slip for a transaction you've already saved, and I notice you say you'd like to create one for before you invoice. I can go over another way to create a packing slip with you.

As the article notes, it's possible to create the packing slip from the transaction list in the Sales section after the transaction has been created and saved. It's also possible to create a packing slip during the creation process of the transaction. Here's how you'd do it with an invoice.

  1. Select +New.
  2. Click Invoice.
  3. Fill out the invoice details as needed.
  4. Click Print or Preview at the bottom of the invoice.
  5. Select Print packing slip.
  6. Click Print in the PDF viewer window or Download to save it to your computer to print later.

Once you've done that, you can close the PDF viewer window, then save or send your invoice as needed.

If you're curious about the form style for the packing slip, it uses the default Master form type in Custom form styles. While you can't customize that form to be used only for a packing slip, changing the colour scheme and information on that form will impact the packing slip's appearance. You can learn more about the Custom form styles section here: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online

Feel free to submit feedback about any of what I've just mentioned if you have ideas for how we can enhance this process: How do I submit feedback? Feedback helps our product development team learn the ways QuickBooks Online users would like to use the program, and they consider comments left in the feedback as they continue to develop the software. Feel free to bookmark our QuickBooks Online Feature and Product Updates page to keep on top of the newest additions to the software.

Don't hesitate to ask more questions if you have them. Enjoy your week!

@LSLR I face the same issue... My company needs to send a packing list before the invoice... So I actually developed a web application that does that. My company is currently using it and would like to distribute my tool to help others solve the same problem.

Hello @dvaryani98, I'm impressed by the initiative you've taken in creating something valuable. Could you please share the contact information or provide a link to your app? I'm genuinely interested in testing it for our company, it could greatly benefit us. Thank you!
