Hello milltownyacht,

Let’s address your concern about creating work orders in QuickBooks.

At this time, the Work Order feature is not available in QuickBooks Online. As a workaround, you can use Delayed Charge. These are non-posting transactions that look similar to work orders and invoices.

Here's how:

  1. Click on the Plus (+) icon.
  2. Choose Delayed Charge.
  3. Enter all the information needed.
  4. Click Save and Close.

I've also shared screenshots below to guide you.

If this is something you want to see added in the future, feel free to send this as a suggestion directly to our product engineers. To do that, just click on the Gear (+) icon and choose Feedback.

I create a PO as a work order from the estimate. if the invoice is already created, I go back to the estimate and reopen it and generate a PO from the estimate. Then I send that to the vendor along with any supporting documentation necessary to execute the job.
