How do I enter a negative credit card payment?

I have an invoice of $1000, some customers paid $500 in Visa, $600 in MC, -$100 in Debit. I cannot enter negative payments. What should I do?

It's a pleasure to see you in Community.  Welcome!  QuickBooks Online provides options for recording your transactions, based on different scenarios.  It's important that entries are created accurately, to ensure a positive outcome on your books.  I'd be happy to point you in the right direction, so you can accomplish your QuickBooks goals with confidence!

 

When a negative deposit is noted, you'll need to create a journal entry.  For your reference, here's a helpful guide.
