Question

How do I make the text box for the customer name/address to be wider in my invoice template. When a PDF is generated, longer customer names wrap over 2 lines.

Hi there troy16,

I know that the layout of your forms says a lot about the professionalism of a business. QuickBooks Online's sales form styles are designed with this in mind, giving you the opportunity to tailor the look of your transactions in various ways to meet your needs. I can see how a customer name wrapping over two lines might not be preferred and can go over the available customization options for you.

The Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online article goes over each of the available customization options you can consider for your forms. There isn't currently a way to change the text box size for the customer information on the form. Even if you were to consider importing a customized style from a Word doc, the overall structure of the program sticks in part to the built-in fields. You can learn more about that option here: Import custom form styles for invoices or estimates

Since changing the size of that field isn't available and it's an important option for you, I recommend leaving feedback for our product developers using the steps outlined in this article: How do I submit feedback? Comments left via that method help the team know what they can do to enhance what QuickBooks has to offer business owners and bookkeepers.

You can also consider third-party options for your invoicing. To keep things as seamless as possible, I suggest reviewing the options available through the Apps tab in your QuickBooks Online account. That way, whatever third-party service you choose has the capability of connecting and filtering information into QuickBooks, which should mean less data entry for you.

All the best to you.
