How do I tally my receipt entered?

I entered all my expense receipts how do I retrieve the total.

Hi there law411@hotmail-c,

 

It's important that all your transactions are entered correctly for your books to be well balanced. QuickBooks Online is a great tool able to help you keep track of sales and expenses so you can see the profit of your business. I can provide some information about expense totals.

 

If you'd like to see a total of expenses, I recommend viewing a few reports by going to the Reports tab.

 

The first one I recommend is the Purchases by Supplier detail located in the Expenses and Suppliers section of the reports tab. This will show each line of expenses, sorted by supplier, with a total at the bottom of each supplier, as well as an overall total at the bottom. You can also remove the option to have it grouped by suppliers by clicking on the Grouped by menu at the top of the report, and selecting None. You can also adjust the date range in these top menus, and click on the Customize menu to add filters to the reports.

 

Another report that can show expense totals would be the Profit and loss located in the Business Overview section of the Reports tab. This will show you every income and expense account in your chart of accounts, as well as their total for the respective period chosen at the top of the report. If you'd like to see a similar report, but with breakdowns for the amount in each account, then the Profit and loss Detail would be the report to choose to see more information.
