How do i turn on the icon for Record Bounced Cheque?

Hello LindaK-QP,

 

I hope you've had a great week and are wrapping up to head into the weekend. I'm here to help and hope that I can speed up some of the work you have to take care of today. I can walk you through the steps of recording the bounced check and making sure you're able to use that icon in QuickBooks Desktop.

 

It sounds to me like you're already on the customer payment and can see the Record Bounced Cheque icon, but it's greyed out or unclickable. To be able to record a bounced cheque, there's one important detail to verify on the Customer Payment window: what the payment method is.

 

If your PMT. METHOD selection isn't Cheque, the button to record a bounced cheque won't be available. You can edit the payment method right on the transaction itself to put it to Cheque, save it, and then return to the payment to use the Record Bounced Cheque button.

 

Note as well that the payment must be deposited in QuickBooks before you'll be able to record it as bounced. Head on over to the Record Deposits feature to record the cheque as deposited if it was automatically put into your Undeposited Funds account.
