How do we alter the format of the sales receipt numbers? For some reason our sales receipts are being listed as YE ADJ JE and we want to change that.

Welcome to Community!  QuickBooks Online provides an automatic numbering system.  When your first transaction is entered, the numbers will continue in sequence.  Making changes to the transaction numbers can be done easily.  I would be happy to help!

Let's make sure Custom transactions numbers are enabled in your account. Here's how: 

1. Open your Settings ⚙ and select Account and settings

2. Open the Sales tab

3. In the Sales form content section, select the Edit ✎

4. Turn Custom transaction numbers on

5. Hit Save, then Done.

To change the sequence, enter the desired number when creating a new sales receipt. QuickBooks will continue consecutively.
