Question

How do you edit taxes when categorizing receipts. A supplier gives one receipt and some items are charged one tax and other items are charged 2 taxes on the one receipt

Hi there lauren-buddiesto,

It's vital that all your transactions be entered correctly so that your books can be well balanced. QuickBooks Online is a great tool able to help you keep track of receipts so you can see your expense totals. I can provide some information about entering receipts.

When entering receipts, you can edit the total amount of tax on a receipt, but not specific taxes if you use a group rate. If you need to adjust the specific taxes for the receipt, you can do so after the expense has been generated by going to the Expenses tab, and locating the expense generated by the receipt to then edit the tax amount by changing the amount in the text box for each one.
