Question

How do you turn on Markup for invoice items? Presently, this option is not in the expenses area of the settings as videos would suggest.

When I build my invoices, sometimes, I come in much cheaper than I quoted. I would like a markup option on the invoice to raise the price on a line item to whatever dollar amount I want.

Good morning, dispatchautomoti.

Thanks for joining us here in the QuickBooks Community! I'd be happy to help.

QuickBooks Online provides the option to add a mark up to your items. This can be done in just a few steps:

1. Head to the "Gear" icon , select "Account and settings"

2. Open "Expenses" from the left menu

3. Click  "Edit" on the "Bills and expenses" section

4. Turn on "Make expenses and items billable"

4. Checkmark the box for Markup with a default rate of.  If you leave the rate box blank, you can change the percentage amount on the forms.

5. When finished, hit Save and then Done

In addition, this article will provide steps on how to enter billable expenses. I hope this helps!
