How to have the Customer name on the receipt, not the project name?

Making sure you are invoicing the right customer is imperative when creating invoices. I'd be happy to help you with getting your invoice showing the right customer.

QuickBooks Online projects feature makes it easy for you to track what you make and what you have spent on a job. If the invoice is assigned to a project and you change the name to just the customer it'll no longer be linked and would remove any income from it in the projects menu. Due to this it's not recommended to change the customer name of an invoice in the projects menu. If you're just making a normal invoice and it's showing the projects customer name you may have assigned it to the project. In order to fix this you'd need to delete the invoice and create it by going to +New>Invoice and select the customers name from the drop down menu.
