How to post double payment for an invoice?

Welcome to Community!  QuickBooks Online provides options for recording customer payments, based on specific criteria.  I'd be happy to help!

When a customer makes a payment to an invoice, you can Receive Payment.  This will connect the payment to the original invoice.  You can record partial payments as necessary.  However, if a customer makes a double payment, or overpayment toward an invoice, the credit can be used toward an invoice.
