Hello there and welcome to the QuickBooks Community!

An Estimate is an important exchange for many businesses and represents a proposal or plan for work to be done, that must be agreed upon by both the customer and the business, in this case, you. Once it's been agreed upon, an Estimate is typically converted into an Invoice so that you can actually bill the customer for the job. This is actually quite easy in QuickBooks Online, so let me give you a hand.

Here's how to convert your Estimate to an Invoice:

  1. Hover over the Sales tab on the left and choose All Sales.
  2. Locate the Estimate that you'd like to convert.
  3. In the Action column, hit Create invoice or click the line to open the Estimate and hit Create invoice next to the Amount in the upper right corner.
  4. Choose whether you'd like to invoice for the total amount of the estimate, a percentage of each line, or a custom amount for each line.
  5. Hit Create invoice.
  6. Fill in any additional details in the new Invoice and hit Save and send or Save and close to finalize it.

When the customer has paid you, you can navigate back to the All Sales page to hit Receive payment for the Invoice in the Action column. It's that easy!

Let me know if there are any more transactions you need a hand with. It's my job! Have a great weekend.
