Question

I am customizing Estimate templates. Each time I print a preview the Estimate # increases. How do I go back to the initial start # and stop the increase numerical.

Hello @masonpro2 ,

I understand you're having problems with the numbering while customizing an Estimate template.  I have tried to duplicate your situation, but I cannot.  As long as I am in Gear Icon-->Custom Form Styles-->Estimate form, the Estimate # remains at 12345, which is simply a placeholder for the number that you will use on your actual estimates.  I can preview it any number of times, and the number remains the same.

If this is the process you are following and the estimate number is changing while customizing the template from within Custom Forms, then I suggest you call the Helpdesk and they could assist you further.

If, however, you are in the actual estimate form and are printing it to see what it looks like, then the number will advance as you are suggesting.  To test your template, it would be best to do it within the Settings, Custom Forms area.

Having said that, you do have the option of having automated numbering turn on or off.  Go to Gear Icon-->Settings-->Company Settings-->Sales-->Sales form content-->Custom transaction numbers which has a toggle of On or Off.

If you want to be able to determine or override the automated transaction numbers on sales forms, set this setting to On.  If you simply want to restart a number series, you can temporarily turn it On so you can change a number, and then toggle it back to Off so numbering will be automatic from then on.

Hope that helps :)
