Question

I am trying to customize an invoice and the CDN currency automatically shows up. Is there anyway for that not to appear? I also send out invoices to my US clients. HELP

Hi there lisa190,

Making sure that the correct currency is shown on your invoice is an important part of managing your sales. QuickBooks Online is a great tool that can help you with keeping track of your payables and receivables. I can provide you some assistance with invoicing in multiple currencies.

Multicurrency is a feature available to QuickBooks Online Essentials and Plus subscriptions. In order to activate it, you can navigate to the Gear Icon, then Account and settings. Select the Advanced option from the left menu, then scroll down and click on the Pencil beside Multicurrency. You can then select the checkbox to activate it.

In order to invoice a customer with USD, that customer needs to be set up in USD. A customer's currency can only be picked at the setup and not be modified after, so if you already created that customer in CAD, you will need to recreate them and assign them the USD currency. You can do so by following the steps in this article about assigning a currency to a customer.

Once that customer has the correct currency assigned to them, the amount in the invoice will be in USD for that customer.
